Bogota, Colombia - May 30th, 2025 - The Hytera Global Partner Summit (HGPS) continued its journey in Cartagena, Colombia, from May 25th to 28th, as the second stop of the 2025 HGPS tour. Marking its first time in Latin America, the summit brought together partners and customers from across the continent to share insights, explore opportunities, and strengthen relationships.
“I’m delighted to attend the first edition of HGPS in Latin America, reuniting with longstanding partners and welcoming new friends,” Yelin Jiang, CEO of Hytera Group, opened the summit by emphasizing the region's strategic importance, “Latin America has been a key growth driver for Hytera in recent years. This momentum inspired us to bring HGPS to this vibrant continent. Through this platform, we aim to strengthen our partnerships and achieve our ultimate goal - Grow Together.” Yelin ended his speech by reinforcing the theme of HPGS 2025.
"In 2024, we’ve seen a significant rise in tenders requiring video, data, and platform integration. Demand for broadband convergence, unified command-and-control systems, bodycams, and evidence management has surged over the past three years." Simon Yin, President of Hytera Americas, shared his insight how has the Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) industry been developing and how has the digital transformation been impacting the PMR industry all these years during his keynote in the opening session.
Simon underscored the shift beyond traditional voice-centric business model, “Non-PMR business growth is solid and certain. Today, everything revolves around data.” This transition framed his introduction of Safe City 4.0, “Modern cities generate immense data every day, from emergency calls, video surveillance, geolocation, to social media feeds and operational reports from the frontline. ‘Safe City 4.0’ enables these data into management capabilities by integrating them into a unified platform, achieving real-time monitoring and management, building up a smarter, more efficient and more agile operation solution to respond to emergency and prevent crime.”
Following the discussion of “Safe City 4.0”, Hytera engineers and regional partners shared their implementations and actual practice in the Public Safety projects across Latin America, validating Simon’s keynote in the beginning. “Complex security challenges outpace traditional hierarchical architecture. Siloed systems and departmental barriers hinder urban safety. ‘Safe City 4.0’ breaks new ground by integrating voice, GIS mapping, video surveillance, emergency protocols, citizen alerts, and digital evidence management into one interconnected platform.,” Simon further emphasized the necessity of “Safe City 4.0”.
After a deep dive of Public Safety, the summit also presented other sessions covering Channel Strategy, MCX Solution, Emergency Communication Solution and Vertical Solutions spanning across Mining, Utilities, Transportation and more.
“This year, HGPS is expected to bring together more than 500 partners and industry stakeholders across the globe. The summits in Cape Town, South Africa and Cartagena, Colombia are great successes,” Dylan Liu, Marketing Director of Hytera Group, commented on the HGPS tour, “HGPS will continue its tour in Split, the second largest city of Croatia. Stay tuned to our website and social media for HGPS’ latest updates.”
